# Study 000D Audit

## Structural Audit

This package is structurally sound.

It includes:

- a manuscript
- methods, results, discussion, limitations, and plain-language summary
- copied source tables inside `source_tables/`
- generated outputs inside `outputs/`
- three SVG figures
- the build script inside `analysis/`
- a manifest file in `manifest/`

The package is self-contained for review of its own claim.

## Scientific Audit

### Question

Did the corrected six-year program align more strongly with `broad normalization` or with `selective expression`?

### Was the question answered?

Yes.

The answer supported by the packaged evidence is:

`selective adaptation through selective expression`

### Was the dataset used appropriately?

Yes.

This study did not pretend to re-answer raw-data questions independently.
Instead, it used the already audited flagship studies and the full-data correction pass as a program-level evidence base, which is appropriate for the question being asked.

### Is the conclusion stronger than the data allows?

No.

The conclusion stays within a justified boundary:

- it does not claim universal proof
- it does not claim a normative comparator
- it does not claim a tissue-level mechanism
- it does claim that the corrected program aligns more strongly with one adaptation signature than the other

That is a defensible study-level conclusion.

### Does the framing undersell the data?

No.

The current package no longer reads like a one-metric or treadmill-only story.
It frames the work at the stronger defensible level:

- narrowed expression
- stabilized specialization
- turnover-dominant accessible leverage
- partial rather than complete burden relief

## Audit Verdict

`Study 000D` is structurally sound and scientifically coherent.

It should be treated as a program-level flagship interpretation study:

- `000A` established the adaptation pattern
- `000B` established the mixed burden pattern
- `Microstudy B` sharpened the higher-demand expression pattern
- `000C` corrected the full-data ecology
- `000D` adjudicates the broader adaptation model
