# Study 000M Abstract

This study tested whether `ecological narrowing` should be interpreted as part of the compensation phenotype in the altered-biomechanics archive, rather than as incidental drift in activity preference.

The corrected archive already supported:

- selective expression (`000D`)
- operating-envelope behavior (`000F`)
- support-dependent low-burden expression (`000H`)
- more than one successful low-burden mode (`000K`)

`000M` asked whether the ecology itself reorganized around those constraints.

The strongest signals were:

- running share of structured hours rose from `21.00%` in `2025` to `84.18%` in `2026`
- treadmill share of running miles rose from `92.78%` to `98.74%`
- outdoor running share fell from `7.219%` to `1.264%`
- the early flagship window still contained `7` hybrid GPS-bearing cardio sessions totaling `9.45` miles and `4.99` hours, while the late flagship window contained `0`
- low-burden outside expression succeeded only in ecologically supported states, not broadly across contexts

The archive is better explained by selective ecological narrowing as part of the compensation phenotype than by incidental ecological drift alone.

The narrowing was not total simplification. Some non-running support ecology was retained. But successful running expression became more concentrated, more stabilized, and more dependent on ecologies the constrained system could use successfully.
