As someone with bilateral clubfoot, I’ve had seasons where I wondered whether what I was feeling was a true relapse or progression, or just a temporary flare‑up.

This thread is here so you don’t have to sort through that feeling alone, whether you’re a parent watching a child or an adult noticing changes in your own feet.

Things people (including me) often notice before going back to clinic or getting new imaging include:

    • The foot (or one side) starting to look a bit more turned in again.
    • Boots & bar, braces, or shoes suddenly feeling harder to get on, or slipping more.
    • More tripping, toe‑walking on one side, or a change in how you walk or run.
    • New or different pain — for example on the outside of the foot, ankle, or knee.

If you’re posting here, you might share:

    • Your age and whether your clubfoot is one foot or both.
    • What treatment you’ve had so far (Ponseti only, surgery, fusions, etc.).
    • What changed recently that made you think “something’s off.”

This forum can’t tell you for sure whether you’re dealing with relapse, progression, or just a rough patch, and it can’t replace your own medical team. What it can do is help you hear how other people noticed problems, and give you some language and questions to bring to your next appointment.
