I’m an adult with bilateral clubfoot and a veteran, and I know how confusing it can be to figure out what the military will or won’t allow when you have clubfoot in your records.
This forum is for anyone with clubfoot who is:
Thinking about joining the military (any branch or country).
Already in the application process or facing a medical waiver review.
Currently serving and dealing with pain, footwear, PT tests, or profiles.
Some things we can talk about here:
What the written medical standards say versus how they’re applied in real life.
What the waiver process looked like for different people.
How training, ruck marches, boots, and PT tests feel with clubfoot.
How people protect their long‑term joints (ankles, knees, hips) while serving.
When you post, it helps if you share:
Your age, and whether you have one clubfoot or both.
Which branch you’re interested in (or currently in).
Where you are in the process (just thinking, talking to a recruiter, at MEPS, already serving).
No one here can promise you a waiver or tell you to hide information from MEPS or a medical provider. What we can do is share our own experiences, what we wish we’d known going in, and the questions you might want to ask before you sign anything.
