Privacy Policy
Last Updated: September 2, 2026
Clubfoot Forward is an educational project built to help parents, adults with clubfoot (talipes equinovarus), caregivers, and families understand clubfoot treatment, bracing, relapse, pain, surgery, long-term outcomes, and lived experience.
This Privacy Policy covers two things: the clubfootforward.com website, and the Clubfoot Forward mobile app for iOS and Android. They work very differently, so they are described separately. Sections 1 through 17 cover the website. Sections 18 through 26 cover the app, which keeps your records on your own device and has no accounts, no logins, and no server holding your data.
Neither the website nor the app is a medical provider, clinic, hospital, insurer, pharmacy, or emergency service. Please do not submit private medical records, Social Security numbers, insurance numbers, payment-card details, or urgent medical information through this website.
Important: This Privacy Policy is meant to explain how Clubfoot Forward handles website and app information in plain language. It is not legal advice. Privacy laws vary by location, and third-party services may change their practices over time.

1. Information We May Collect
Clubfoot Forward collects only the information needed to operate the site, understand basic site performance, respond to messages, and maintain transparency around third-party tools.
- Website analytics: basic visit information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device type, browser type, referrer, and time on page may be processed through analytics tools such as WordPress.com or Jetpack Stats.
- Server and security logs: hosting, security, firewall, or WordPress-related systems may process IP addresses, browser information, timestamps, and request data to keep the site stable and secure.
- Contact form or email messages: if you contact Clubfoot Forward, we may receive your email address, name if you provide it, message content, and any information you voluntarily include.
- Embedded video interaction: if you play or interact with embedded YouTube videos, Google/YouTube may process information under their own policies.
- Affiliate-link interaction: if you click an affiliate link, such as an Amazon link, the affiliate platform may use cookies or tracking systems to attribute referrals.
- Support or donation interaction: if you use a support tool such as Buy Me a Coffee, that service and its payment processor may process the information needed to complete the transaction.
- Voluntary comments or submissions: if comment features, forms, or submission tools are enabled, any information you choose to submit may be processed so the feature can function.
This section describes the website. The app is different, and is described in sections 18 through 26.
2. Information We Do Not Intentionally Collect
Clubfoot Forward is an educational resource, not a clinic or medical-record platform. We do not intentionally collect sensitive records that are not needed to operate the website.
- Medical records: we do not ask visitors to upload medical charts, imaging, operative notes, treatment records, prescriptions, insurance documents, or private health files.
- Payment-card details: we do not collect or store credit card numbers, bank account numbers, or full payment credentials on this website.
- Government identifiers: we do not request Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, passport numbers, or similar identifiers.
- Precise home address: we do not require visitors to provide a home address to read this site.
- Emergency medical information: this site is not designed to receive or respond to urgent medical issues.
- Newsletter list by default: we do not automatically add visitors to an email marketing list simply because they visit the site.
If you voluntarily include sensitive health or personal information in a contact message, that information may be received as part of your message. Please avoid sending information that is not necessary for your inquiry.
3. How We Use Information
Information collected through this site may be used for limited website-related purposes.
- to respond to contact-form messages or emails
- to understand which pages are useful to visitors
- to improve page structure, navigation, accessibility, and site performance
- to monitor security, spam, abuse, uptime, and technical errors
- to display embedded content such as YouTube videos
- to support affiliate-link attribution where affiliate links are used
- to process voluntary support or donation activity through third-party platforms
- to comply with legal, security, or platform requirements when applicable
Clubfoot Forward does not sell personal medical information. Clubfoot Forward does not use contact-form messages to create medical profiles, provide diagnosis, or offer individualized medical treatment.
4. Website Analytics
Clubfoot Forward may use WordPress.com, Jetpack Stats, hosting analytics, or similar tools to understand basic site usage. These tools help answer practical website questions: which pages are being read, how visitors move through the site, whether pages load properly, and which topics may need clearer navigation.
Analytics data may include IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referrer, page views, date and time of visit, approximate location, and similar technical information. Analytics providers may process this information under their own privacy notices and retention rules.
Analytics are used to improve the website. They are not used by Clubfoot Forward to diagnose medical conditions, provide treatment, or identify individual visitors’ medical histories.
The app carries no analytics. There is no usage-tracking, crash-reporting, or behavioral-analytics library inside the mobile app. See section 20.
6. Embedded Videos and External Content
Some Clubfoot Forward pages may include embedded YouTube videos or links to external resources. Embedded content from another website can behave as if you visited that third-party website directly.
For example, YouTube or Google may collect information about video interactions, device information, cookies, watch activity, or logged-in account activity depending on your browser, Google account status, and privacy settings.
Clubfoot Forward does not control Google, YouTube, Amazon, Buy Me a Coffee, Stripe, WordPress.com, Jetpack, Apple, or other third-party platforms. Their privacy policies govern their own collection and use of information.
7. Affiliate Links, Product Links, and Support Tools
Clubfoot Forward may use affiliate links, including Amazon Associates links or other product links. If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, Clubfoot Forward may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
Affiliate platforms may use cookies, referral codes, or other tracking methods to determine whether a purchase came from this site. Clubfoot Forward does not receive your full payment-card details from Amazon or other affiliate platforms.
Clubfoot Forward may also use support tools such as Buy Me a Coffee. If you choose to support the site through a third-party platform, that platform and its payment processor may collect and process the information needed to complete the transaction. Clubfoot Forward does not store your credit card number on this website.
Affiliate links and support tools do not change the educational purpose of this site. Product references are not medical prescriptions, diagnosis, orthotic fitting, or individualized treatment advice.
8. Advertising Status (Website)
This website does not currently run third-party display advertising. If display advertising is added or re-enabled later, this policy will be updated to describe the advertising provider, advertising cookies, personalized-ads choices, and any required disclosures.
Even without display ads, third-party services such as embedded YouTube videos, analytics tools, affiliate links, or support tools may still use cookies or similar technologies under their own policies.
The mobile app is different. The free version of the app shows banner advertising. See section 21 for how that works and what it never touches.
9. Children’s Privacy (Website)
Clubfoot Forward is written for parents, caregivers, adults with clubfoot, and general educational audiences. The site discusses children’s medical topics, but it is not intended for children to submit personal information directly.
Children should not submit contact forms, personal stories, medical details, photos, or other identifying information without a parent or guardian. If a parent or guardian believes a child submitted personal information through this site, they may contact Clubfoot Forward and request deletion of the relevant message or submission.
Children’s information in the app is handled differently, because a parent normally records a child’s treatment there. See section 23.
10. Medical Information and Health Privacy Boundary
Clubfoot Forward provides educational content about clubfoot. It does not provide medical care, diagnosis, individualized treatment, emergency services, or patient-record management.
Do not use this site to send urgent symptoms, private medical records, diagnostic images, insurance documents, or time-sensitive medical questions. Contact your licensed medical team for medical care and emergency services for urgent situations.
If you voluntarily send health-related information through a contact form or email, Clubfoot Forward may receive that information as part of your message. The safest approach is to keep messages general and avoid sending private records unless specifically required through a secure medical system managed by your own healthcare provider.
11. Data Retention
Clubfoot Forward keeps information only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose it was provided or as required for site operation, security, legal compliance, or ordinary recordkeeping.
- Contact messages: may be kept long enough to respond, follow up, document the conversation, or manage site communication.
- Analytics data: may be retained by analytics providers according to their own retention policies and settings.
- Security logs: may be retained by hosting, firewall, or security tools according to operational needs and provider policies.
- Third-party transactions: purchases, affiliate activity, or support payments are retained by the relevant third-party platform under its own policy.
- App records: kept on your own device for as long as you keep them. Clubfoot Forward holds no copy, so there is nothing on our side to retain or delete. See section 24.
You may request deletion of direct contact-form information that Clubfoot Forward still holds, subject to any legal, security, or operational limits.
12. When Information May Be Shared
Clubfoot Forward does not sell contact-form messages. Information may be processed or shared in limited situations:
- with website hosting, security, analytics, form, or email-service providers needed to operate the site
- with third-party platforms you choose to use, such as YouTube, Amazon, Buy Me a Coffee, Stripe, or external links
- when needed to respond to your direct inquiry
- when required to prevent spam, abuse, attacks, fraud, or security issues
- when required by law, legal process, or legitimate safety concerns
13. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights related to personal information, including access, correction, deletion, objection, limitation, portability, or withdrawal of consent where applicable.
- Access: you may ask what direct personal information Clubfoot Forward has about you.
- Correction: you may ask to correct inaccurate contact information.
- Deletion: you may ask us to delete contact-form messages or direct communications we still hold.
- Objection: you may object to certain processing where applicable.
- Cookie control: you may manage cookies through browser settings or third-party privacy tools.
- Third-party accounts: you may need to manage data directly through Google, YouTube, Amazon, Buy Me a Coffee, Stripe, WordPress.com, Apple, or other platforms if they control the relevant information.
- App data: you control it directly, because it never leaves your device. Delete records inside the app, or remove the app entirely.
To make a request, use the contact information below. We aim to respond within a reasonable time and within legally required timelines where applicable.
14. Third-Party Services and Policies
Clubfoot Forward may use or link to third-party services. Their own policies govern how they process information.
- WordPress.com / Automattic / Jetpack: Automattic Privacy Policy, Privacy Notice for Visitors to Users’ Sites, and Jetpack Privacy Policy Helper
- Google / YouTube: Google Privacy Policy and Google Cookie Information
- Amazon Associates: Associates Program Policies and Affiliate Disclosure Guidance
- Buy Me a Coffee: Privacy Policy
- Stripe: Privacy Policy
- Apple: Apple Privacy Policy. App Store distribution and subscription processing on iOS
- Google Play and Google AdMob: Google Privacy Policy. Android distribution, subscription processing, and in-app advertising
External links are provided for transparency and convenience. Clubfoot Forward is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or platforms.
15. Security
Clubfoot Forward uses ordinary website, hosting, WordPress, and third-party security measures to help protect the site. No website, email, form, analytics system, or third-party platform can guarantee absolute security.
Please do not submit highly sensitive information through ordinary website forms or email links. Use secure medical systems provided by your healthcare team for private medical records or patient-specific care questions.
App records are protected by your device’s own security. Your passcode, biometrics, and operating-system encryption, because that is where they are stored.
16. Updates to This Privacy Policy
Clubfoot Forward may update this Privacy Policy as the site or the app changes, third-party tools change, legal requirements change, or new features are added.
The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the site or the app after changes means you accept the revised policy.
17. Contact Clubfoot Forward
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, want to make a privacy request, or believe information should be corrected or deleted, contact Clubfoot Forward through the site contact page.
Part two
The Clubfoot Forward App
The Clubfoot Forward app for iOS and Android is a journey companion. It lets a parent, an adult with clubfoot, or a caregiver track casting, bracing hours, milestones, symptoms, appointment questions, and photos.
The app is local-first. There is no account, no login, and no server holding your records. Everything you enter is stored in a database on your own device. The app makes exactly one network request of its own, and only when you deliberately press a button to send feedback.
18. What the App Stores on Your Device
Everything you enter into the app is stored in a local database on the device itself. It is not uploaded, mirrored, backed up to Clubfoot Forward, or synchronized to any other device.
- Profiles: the display name you choose, the profile type, which foot or feet are affected, and the treatment stage you select.
- Treatment records: casting series and individual casts, tenotomy and other procedures, bracing periods, brace wear sessions, and brace observations.
- Check-ins and symptoms: pain, stiffness, swelling, function difficulty, activities, and any notes you write.
- Milestones: firsts you choose to record, and their dates.
- Appointments and questions: visit dates, preparation notes, and saved questions.
- Photos: progress photos you attach from your photo library. They stay on the device. The app does not request camera access.
- Preferences: language choice and whether you have turned on local brace reminders.
Because this data lives on your device, it is protected by your device’s own security: your passcode, biometrics, and operating-system encryption. If your device is backed up through iCloud or Google, the app’s data may be included in that backup under Apple’s or Google’s policies, not ours.
19. The One Thing the App Sends
The app makes exactly one network request of its own, and only when you deliberately fill in a feedback or problem-report form and press send. Nothing is sent in the background, and nothing is sent if you never use those forms.
A feedback submission contains these fields and nothing else:
- whether you marked something helpful, if you were asked
- the comment you typed
- the name of the screen you were on
- the app version and build number
- the platform, meaning iOS or Android
- the date and time you sent it
There is no identifier of any kind in that submission. No name, no email address, no profile ID, no device ID, no advertising ID, and no account. Feedback arrives anonymously and cannot be traced back to a person or a device, which also means we have no way to reply to you directly.
Your treatment records are not attached. The only way personal or medical information reaches us through feedback is if you type it into the comment box yourself, so please keep those messages general.
20. What the App Never Collects
- No account or identity: the app has no sign-up, no login, no email capture, and no user ID.
- No analytics or tracking SDK: the app contains no usage-analytics, crash-reporting, or behavioral-tracking library.
- No location: the app does not request or use your location.
- No contacts, microphone, or camera: the app requests none of these. Photo access is limited to your photo library, and only when you choose to attach a photo.
- No push notifications: brace reminders are scheduled locally by your own device. There is no push token, no notification server, and nothing is sent anywhere to deliver them.
- No payment details: subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple or Google. Card numbers never pass through the app.
- No sale of data: Clubfoot Forward does not sell, rent, or trade personal or health information, and has no app data to sell in the first place.
21. Ads in the App
The free version of the app shows banner advertising from Google AdMob on some screens. This is the one third party that receives data from inside the app.
AdMob may process device and advertising information, such as an advertising identifier, device type, operating system, coarse location derived from an IP address, and ad-interaction data, under Google’s Privacy Policy. Clubfoot Forward does not receive your records from AdMob and does not send AdMob anything you have entered into the app.
Two limits are built into the app deliberately:
- Ads are kept off the screens that hold your data. They appear on browsing and educational screens, not on your Journey, treatment, or check-in records.
- Your records are never used to target them. Nothing you enter is passed to the ad provider, so ads cannot be selected on the basis of your child’s treatment or your symptoms.
On iOS you will be asked whether the app may track you across other companies’ apps and websites. You can decline, and declining does not limit any feature. On both platforms you can review your choices at any time through Manage Ad Privacy Choices in the app’s Privacy screen, and through your device’s own advertising settings.
An optional SUPPORT subscription removes sponsor placements from the app. All Clubfoot Forward tools remain fully available either way.
22. SUPPORT Subscriptions
The app is free. It also offers an optional auto-renewable subscription called Clubfoot Forward SUPPORT, which removes sponsor placements and helps fund continued development. Every tool in the app remains available whether or not you subscribe.
- Monthly. Length 1 month, $3.99 per month
- Annual. Length 1 year, $29.99 per year
Prices are shown in the app in your own currency as returned by the store. Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account at confirmation. The subscription renews automatically for the same length and price unless it is turned off at least 24 hours before the current period ends. You can manage or cancel it at any time in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
Clubfoot Forward never sees your payment details. Purchases, renewals, refunds, and cancellations are handled entirely by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies. The app receives only the fact that an entitlement is active, so it knows whether to hide sponsor placements. It receives no name, no email address, and no card information.
Use of the app is governed by the Clubfoot Forward Terms of Use, which is linked inside the app’s purchase screen alongside this Privacy Policy.
23. Children’s Data in the App
Clubfoot is usually treated in infancy, so the app is built for a parent or caregiver to record information about a child. That is the ordinary use, and it deserves a clear answer.
A child’s information entered into the app never leaves the device. The child’s name or nickname, dates, casts, brace hours, milestones, photos, and notes are stored locally and are not transmitted to Clubfoot Forward or to anyone else. There is no account to attach them to and no server to hold them.
The app is not directed to children as users, and children are not asked to provide information themselves. A parent or guardian controls what is entered and can delete any of it at any time from within the app.
Because none of it is collected by us, there is nothing for a parent to request access to or deletion of from Clubfoot Forward. Deleting a record in the app, or removing the app, removes it.
24. Deleting Your App Data
You are in control of everything the app holds, because you hold it.
- Delete individual records from within the app: sessions, procedures, notes, photos, and profiles.
- Reset a profile’s treatment data from the app’s own controls, which removes treatment records while leaving appointments and notes.
- Uninstall the app to remove its database from the device entirely. There is no copy anywhere else to delete.
Anonymous feedback you chose to send cannot be withdrawn, because it carries no identifier that would let anyone find it again. That is a deliberate trade: it is the same property that keeps it anonymous.
25. App Third-Party Services
The app uses a small number of third parties. Each is listed here with what it does and its own policy.
- Google AdMob. Banner advertising on non-record screens. Google Privacy Policy
- Apple App Store. App distribution and subscription processing on iOS. Apple Privacy Policy
- Google Play. App distribution and subscription processing on Android. Google Privacy Policy
Educational content in the app is drawn from clubfootforward.com and from published clubfoot literature. Reading it involves no third party, because the content ships inside the app and is available offline.
26. App Medical Boundary
The app is an educational and organizational tool. It helps you learn terminology, prepare questions for a visit, and keep your own records in one place.
It is not medical advice, not a diagnosis, not a treatment plan, and not a substitute for a qualified healthcare professional. All care decisions, casting, bracing, procedures, medications, or any change in treatment, belong with a clinician who knows the actual case.
If you believe urgent care is needed, contact your care team or call emergency services. Do not use the app to decide whether something is an emergency.
